For many people, Monday can be a challenging day. After two days of rest and relaxation, parties, work around the house, and just living on your own schedule, not answering to a boss, customers, or coworkers, can make the thought of real life a daunting task. Did you know that Mondays see more suicide attempts than other days, with Sundays seeing the fewest? Many of you don’t keep up with the news over the weekend, and on Monday morning when you wake up, the first thing you do is turn on the news, and immediately you’re filled with dread. Which increases the nausea associated with your case of the Mondays. 

     Knowledge is power, and when you are aware of the stresses you’re up against, especially on Monday morning, you are able to form a plan, or set an intention to rise above the depressing thoughts you create about Monday. You have the power to make a case of the Mondays, into a positive experience. You control your feelings, by controlling your thoughts. You can cure your Case of the Mondays. 

     Do you want Monday to be your best day? Then try this… 

  1. Sunday night, plan your week ahead. Think about, or write down goals for the week. What will you accomplish? Visualize the tasks that must be done. This can be done in seconds, or hours. Simply spend some time seeing your future. 
  2. Before going to sleep say “Thank You” for the good stuff in your life. (out loud or silently doesn’t matter) Then, in a grateful state of mind… fall asleep. 
  3. First thoughts Monday morning… replay any good feelings you had from the weekend. Feel the joy that you felt at the time, and then say thank you. Out loud or in your mind doesn’t matter, simply start Monday being thankful for the good times you recently had. Spend a couple minutes simply feeling gratitude for your life. 
  4. Monday morning while getting ready for the day, feel yourself accomplishing the tasks you thought about sunday. Visualize yourself accomplishing the goals you have ahead of you. See solutions to negativity that may pop up. Use this time to see your future in a positive way. 
  5. … **IMPORTANT**……. Tell yourself…. “TODAY IS GOING TO BE A GREAT DAY” try to feel how good your day will be. (sometimes you may have to tell yourself this the entire trip to work. But don’t give up, keep telling yourself until you feel like today is gonna be a great day!)
  6. Relax, you have set your intention to have a great day. Now, allow the universe, God, Allah, etc. to work their magic to bring about your desire. 

This is a simple exercise and with practice you can set your life up everyday. You are in total control even when you feel totally out of control! Take the time to set up your day with intention. You will be amazed at your results!

THE HAPPINESS EFFECT.

Are you wondering why your not healthier, happier, or more abundant? Has life seemed to pass you by and now your looking for a new source of joy? Do you run out of energy during the day, get annoyed by little things at home or at work?

Your body and mind are the same as a plant in nature. When you are not creating negative side effects by consuming processed chemical laden foods, and synthetic drugs, or filling your mind with negativity (think watching the news) then you will grow perfectly as well.

Like nature, growing perfectly takes time, and intentional, consistent positive actions. Eating and medicating naturally, as well as being grateful, and finding the good in every life circumstance, is how you take positive actions in your life.

Chapter 1

HAPPINESS HAPPENS

Happiness doesn’t grow on trees or spring up from the ground, and it is not something that you can buy at the store. Yet, in our constant search for happiness, we spend millions of dollars on books, tapes, and seminars that teach us how to become more satisfied with life. I personally have spent countless hours and dollars on health and happiness information. Not only have I spent the money and time researching, but I have put into practice much of what I learned. Like many of you I was confused when I was eating healthy and yet I was still incredibly negative. I know people that wake up beaming with sunshine and positive energy, however their bodies are always sick. You may be thinking this is just another self help book that doesn’t fix all the issues, or provide a lifestyle that can help you maintain good health and happiness. But this could be the last book on creating happiness that you need, because it will set your life’s foundation, improving your health by embracing nature, and teaching you how to find positivity all around you. You will learn that abundance follows positivity. From this day forward you will be able to control your own life. You will know how to be healthy and positive every day. You will learn that when you feel happy, abundance flows easily into your life. It happens every time.

For many of us, the idea of not having enough money is why we are not satisfied with our lives. We have been brainwashed into believing that money will solve all of our problems. “If only I had more money, I could…” You might be saying to yourself, “Everyone they show on television with money appears happy, the Kardashians appear pretty happy.” However, money alone does not make you happy, or content with life. You can have money, a nice house, expensive cars, and vacations and still be miserable.

You might think a huge mansion, a new Mercedes, and a million-dollar salary would instantly make you happy. Having lots of money and expensive toys makes life easier and more enjoyable, definitely. But as you know, having things is not the answer. When your favorite pet or a loved one dies, your health fails, or you don’t have any family or friends, you immediately forget how good the material things made you feel. When challenges in life knock on your door, money won’t make you smile anymore. You must first find happiness inside of yourself, and then abundance will follow you. Guaranteed.

What is it about happiness that is so elusive? Why aren’t we all running around with goofy grins on our faces? We all want to be in a total state of bliss, so why aren’t we? Why do we pay for books, videos, and seminars searching for the source of joy? Why is it so hard to find consistent happiness? What is happiness? According to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary, ‘happiness’ is “the state of well-being and contentment.” Happiness is only an emotion, a feeling. Who controls your feelings and emotions? Only you! I could stop writing this book right now, because the key to happiness is you! There, you have it. The secret is out: the only thing stopping you from being happy is you. Your mind controls your emotions, good, bad, frustrated, relieved, tired, alert, joyful, angry. That fact alone should fill you with joy and positive thoughts.

We are our thoughts. What you think about today, you will become tomorrow. When you learn to control your thoughts, you will become a psychic. You will know exactly how your life is going to turn out. You will know that you are going to be healthy, happy, and abundant, because only you can determine your satisfaction with life.

I was once asked, “How can I make my kids happy?” That is a great question, and the answer is simple. You cannot make someone else be happy. Your children will have to learn how to create happiness for themselves, and they will. However, there is a secret that you can use to help your kids or those around you to become and stay happy. Are you ready to hear this? Here is the secret: When you decide to be happy with yourself and live your life with a positive and grateful attitude, your kids (and most people around you) will want to be like you. Many times when I go to the store I set an intention to be nice to whoever I run into no matter what. This is going to sound crazy, but when I do this everyone in the store smiles at me, or nods their head as if saying hello. If I do run into a negative person, a quick happy response and a big smile usually creates a positive and friendly exchange.

People will be attracted to your happy mindset. It’s an amazing feeling! All of a sudden, you will notice that most people around you are in a good mood. Wherever you go, people will go out of their way to be positive. Your optimism becomes contagious. Your enjoyment with life becomes a happiness magnet to those around you. Your happiness and positivity will bring good things to you and to those you love. This is what I like to call the happiness effect.

The coolest part of this is that the universe is designed to provide you with abundance. Most things in nature have more than they need to survive. A tree in the forest can live for hundreds of years, never moving, and all of its needs are met by nature. There are only four steps that you must take in order to receive this gift of abundance. First of all, you must get your body healthy. If your body does not have the natural nutrients it needs, your mind will never function at one hundred percent, and you will never be completely balanced. The second step is to get your mind healthy. If your brain has all the nutrients that it needs, you will be more positive, and you will be able to see the solutions to your challenges more clearly. The third step is to be grateful. You must be grateful for everything you already have, and everything you are going to receive in the future. Finally, you need to get outside and embrace nature. Nature has healing powers.

That’s all there is to it. It sounds super simple, and it is.

Greatness takes time

     December 21st is the winter solstice as well as the shortest day of the year. How many of you noticed any difference between sunset on the 21st, vs the 20th? My Christmas lights come on at 5:30pm and it seemed to be dark about the same time as the day before. As a matter of fact I didn’t notice it getting darker for a week or more before the 21st.

The Grand Conjunction or the Christmas star 2020

     How many of you watched the Grand Conjunction? This was a once every 800+ year astronomical event where the planets Jupiter and Saturn pass close together forming a single bright star. If you had been paying attention throughout the year the two stars slowly came together. There was little difference of the spread everyday, however when you looked back over time the planets covered a lot of sky to come together.

Greatness takes time

     Nature takes its time to create greatness. We are a part of nature, and for that reason creating greatness in our lives also takes time. If you want to live a happier, healthier and more abundant life, you will need to take a step forward everyday. If you read one page in a book, and learn one small thing today, you will become smarter. However when you wake up tomorrow you will most likely see or feel no different. Your life will still be stagnant. Now on day two, three, and so on, if you continue to read one page, and learn one new thought, you will begin to see and feel the change. Now after thirty days, three months, or a year when you look back, you will see how much you accomplished, you will be amazed!

Started from a seed

     Day by day the little changes seem insignificant, but when you add them all up you will see the change as monumental. Just as the difference between December 21st and June 21st is like night and day, accomplishing, learning and growing everyday creates monumental changes to your life over time as well.

One step a day to achieve… ANYTHING

     If you commit to taking that one step everyday, I guarantee you that after 6 months your life will begin looking drastically different. You can be, do, have anything you want, but you have to commit to it daily. Take daily steps, but focus on the long-term change.
We, like nature, take time to achieve greatness.

The universe has your back!

Hawk animal wisdom

As I evolve on my transformation to a more observant human being, I am beginning to see that God, the Source creator, the universe or nature is always watching our backs. Now I’m not saying we all have a couple of invisible, bulky dudes, with machine guns and baseball bats hanging out with us. Or, that we have these invisible angelic beings with wings flying over our heads.
What I believe is that we have to live by a system of choice, or free will. And we were granted life on earth for a purpose, but we weren’t given the rule book. The minute we are created, we begin our earthly experience, and it is up to us, each individual to figure out why we came here, and what we want to learn while we’re here.

There is no rule book.

Since there is no rule book, nature steps up, and then somehow connects with a higher power to guide us along the way. Similar to when you and a friend are walking down the street, and they nudge you a little, so that you don’t step in the puddle of water that you didn’t see.
Now that you’ve been nudged you can either, easily step over the water, go around, or fight it and jump right in. The choice is yours, you can take the path of least resistance and go with the force of the nudge to easily cross the obstacle, or you can try to force a different outcome. Either way nature, or your friend had your back and the choice was yours.

Having said that, one way that the universe tries to nudge us is through our interactions with wildlife. This morning as I was enjoying my patio garden, a Cooper’s Hawk hovered within 10′ of me, then landed in a small tree outside of my patio. For the next five minutes we would stare at each other, while he allowed me to snap a couple of pictures of him. Finally bored with the exchange, or maybe opportunity arrived, he chased off after a dove. Very cool experience.

Now here’s the really crazy synchronistic thing; today is the last day of my job of 13 years. Partially due to the COVID-19 virus shutdown, which then led the company into bankruptcy. The company will survive, my job will not. Now this particular job wasn’t always my favorite place to be. So leaving is actually a good thing for me. I have been asking Source for a solution to my dilemma of not enjoying my job, and having a strong need to pay my bills. The universe showed up with a great solution. Close the business down, yet pay Steve a nice severance package so that he has time to work it all out, and pay his bills.
Me losing my job is actually a blessing. Seeing the hawk simply cements that this blessing came from a higher source. Here on my last day of work, a hawk shows up and hangs out with me. Giving me strength, power, and knowledge that I am not alone, and that I am on the right path.

Whenever I am visited by nature ie;
a plant stands out for some reason,
a squirrel stares at me unusually long,
birds flying erratically in my direction,
or a hawk catching my attention and then sitting and watching me.

I will look to Google for a meaning. Then I will meditate, or think about how this exchange between nature and me affects my life; what meaning does it bring.
Throughout history the hawk has been a celebrated animal in many religions, and cultures. In spiritual circles, and indigenous traditions the hawk symbolizes power and focus, clear vision, and a strong connection to the source energy. According to historical traditions, when the hawk shows up in your life, you should pay attention to the subtle messages you are getting. Know that you will need to be strong and focused to achieve your dreams, and you have a partner, nature, to help guide you to success.

Today I sense the message I am getting, is to know that all is well, and God will provide the strength I need to succeed. I also learned that I need to stay especially alert to the next signs that I am given. When you begin to feel that the signs the universe gives you have a meaning, you will definitely see more. Synchronicities will begin showing up everywhere, and you will be amazed at what you start seeing, and feeling.
To sum it up, you will need an open mind and heart to sense what nature is trying to tell you. Remember that not everything is a sign. Nature keeps on moving and is not always about you. However, if you pay attention, you will be given clues to the answers to your life’s rule book. Keep your mind and eyes open. The universe has your back!

When you are healthy, and your mind is positive, you will feel happy, which will lead to a life of abundance. It happens everytime.

     You also need to know that once you decide to be happy and see things in a “good way”, good  things will start happening for you as well. It’s crazy, and it will seem like magic. Your happiness and positivity will bring good things to you, and to those you love. It is really amazing when you see this begin happening everyday. It’s what I like to call, the happiness effect…
