     What’s up world? As I get closer to launching my book The Happiness Effect, I thought you might be asking yourself, “what the hell is the happiness effect?”

Well… have you ever had a day where you got what you wanted? You received the raise you asked for, you got the job, your partner said yes, Then while you were still beaming with joy, you noticed people around you seemed happy as well? Your happiness became addicting to others, you became a happiness attractor. This is an example of the happiness effect.    

Happiness is inside of you.

    Many people feel the need for money, alcohol, or drugs to create happiness. However you don’t need external sources of joy, you can create this emotional high simply by following a few simple guidelines.

The Happiness Effect will teach you the simple steps necessary to maintain your health, control and improve your mind, which will then attract abundance, guaranteed. 

     Inside of the book you will learn that you must:

     The first step in creating more abundance in your life, is to get your health in order. Ask any Navy Seal what happens to their brain during their training, where they are deprived of food and sleep. They begin to lose their cognitive responses, they stop thinking clearly. Your brain depends on your body to be in good health to operate at its best, and your body depends on your brain, it’s all connected, and once you learn how to balance it, you will create the spark that ignites the happiness effect.

Once your health is on the right track, you will need to create positive momentum in your life. Which means, you need to learn to see all events as a learning, growing, or simply a positive experience in your life. This is certainly easier said than done, however by reading The Happiness Effect you will discover simple tricks, or shifts that can make this a lot easier.

Part of this process is learning to be grateful for all things. You break your leg, find a way to make it a positive experience. Gratitude is a huge key to living a happy and balanced life.

The Importance of FRUIT

Eat a variety of fruit everyday. 2 – 4 cups a day would be perfect.

   I am getting close to the editing portion of releasing my book – – THE HAPPINESS EFFECT – – A self help book explaining why our current synthetic and processed food and medicine is killing us, how fruit, vegetables, and herbs work with our body naturally creating zero unwanted, unnatural side effects, and positive momentum. You can eat the healthiest food everyday and you can still be unhappy and unhealthy, why? Because if you are not being grateful, and living with positive intention, you will never be balanced. The way I approach life is that you must:

  • Get your body right, 
  • To get your mind right, 
  • To keep your life right.

FRUIT

     Fruit is probably my favorite, go to food for snacks, and for their health benefits. I love my veggies and herbs because they are very balancing and touch all three Life Centers. However fruit generally contains more protein than herbs, is high in fiber, and natural sugar. Fruit also has some heavy antioxidants, and high vitamin and mineral content per serving, and they are obviously sweeter than herbs, or vegetables. Fruit is my sugar snack substitute. You will notice however, that just like vegetables and herbs, fruit will also improve all three Life Centers.    

     The purple colored fruit are overflowing with antioxidant properties making them a source for anti-cancer benefits. Science is proving that purple fruit and vegetables are amazing at controlling free radicals (Zombie cells) giving your body a complete package for cancer prevention. You should eat some purple fruit or vegetables every day. 

     What is an Antioxidant, you ask? Great question. The simple answer is:  “Antioxidants are molecules that attack free radicals.” A free radical (Zombie cell) is a molecule that is unstable, or deformed (think cancer). This deformed molecule can then attack other good cells. These deformed molecules not only attack cells, but they can transform good cells into free radicals causing a chain reaction that leads to cancer and eventually death. 

     When you think of free radicals, visualize a zombie. A zombie can attack and kill you, and they can attack and transform you into another zombie. Free radicals do the same thing. Attack and kill, or attack and conquer. Either way you and your cells lose. 

     So if you don’t want to become a zombie and die of cancer, you might want to start eating some fruit. Especially the purple and red varieties. As I mentioned earlier, you should eat a purple fruit every day. Purple and red fruit also contain phytonutrients called Anthocyanins. These little fellows really attack the free radicals and are found in large quantities in red and purple foods. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying: “Eat a purple fruit everyday and this will keep your cancer away”. Maybe it was a saying about apples? I think you get the idea. You need fruit in your diet every day. 

     Let us begin with one of my favorite fruits that some people say is a vegetable, and it is actually both a fruit and a vegetable. Do you know what it is? Yep, a tomato. The confusion comes from the description of fruit. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica; “Tomatoes are fruits that are considered vegetables by nutritionists. Botanically, a fruit is a ripened flower ovary and contains seeds. Tomatoes, plums, zucchinis, and melons are all edible fruits.”

I am listing tomatoes in my fruit section. I mix tomatoes into my fruit smoothie. So to me, they are a fruit. You may call them whatever you like, just include them in your diet. Amazing health benefits!

  1. Tomatoes: (Solanum lycopersicum) 

      Lycopene is the standout nutrient in tomatoes. Lycopene is a strong antioxidant and tomatoes have a lot of it. It is said that eating tomatoes will prevent cancer. I’ve also heard a celebrity chef state that a combination of tomatoes and olive oil eaten weekly could prevent many forms of cancer.     

     There is also a good amount of vitamin A, B6, C, K, and beta-carotene, magnesium, potassium, iron, and calcium. Tomatoes only contain 10mg of sodium and 2.7mg of sugar per four ounce serving. I eat at least five cherry tomatoes most days. They are one of my favorite plants to grow. There is nothing better than going outside to your own garden and grabbing some fresh ripened tomatoes that you grew. Let’s see how they help our three life centers:

      HEAD:  

  • Reduces cognitive impairments
  • Increases memory
  • Helps prevent Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia
  • Improves eyesight

       CHEST:   

  • Aids respiratory system
  • Increases blood circulation 
  • Regulates blood sugar (anti diabetes)
  • Strengthens your heart muscles

       GUT:     

  • Improves digestion
  • Tomatoes have probiotic properties to help regulate bacteria in your stomach
  • Improves liver and kidney functions 

     Tomatoes have been around for thousands of years. It seems that the Aztec nation was the first to cultivate them around 500 AD. From Central America they traveled to Spain and Italy and eventually became a staple food for many cultures. 

Garden Hack:

     If you grow your own tomatoes you can taste the amazing flavor of fresh picked tomatoes. Pick your fruit in the morning. There is a noticeable difference in the flavor of a morning harvested fruit, versus afternoon or evening harvested fruit. The morning harvested tomatoes will have a sweeter flavor, I guarantee it.
