Chemical FREE meat

An excerpt from chapter 11 of THE HAPPINESS EFFECT.

Check out Ch 11 on my YouTube channel

Let me take a second and talk about meat. As you noticed, I didn’t include it in the “big three.” Why? The vegan diet is pretty powerful, and vegans have proven that you can survive on a plant-based diet. The key word is “survive.” You are not looking to just survive. You are reading this book because you want a perfectly balanced life in total happiness and abundance.

Cow sitting in their own feces. Looks healthy right?

The truth is that I am a meat eater, although I fill up on vegetables. I really love ground beef; I think I could eat a hamburger every day. I would, however, substitute goat meat for beef if the cost was reasonable. Goat meat is extremely beneficial for you with its high nutrient and high protein content, without the bad fats from beef. Goats are also mostly organically raised, and the meat really just tastes like beef (at least when ground, it does). Goats take up less space to raise and release less methane than cows, which would help our environment. However, Americans consume more beef than any other wealthy country, and Americans are near the bottom of the good health list when it comes to wealthy countries. I wonder if there could be a connection. Hmm.

Have you ever seen the tv show, Friends episode where Joey had meat sweats? To this day when I eat low quality meat, I tend to sweat profusely. My wife and I tested this and when I eat meat without chemicals, I have no reaction. It seems to be the chemicals in low quality meats. I try to only eat naturally fed (grass, free range, or pasture) meat without any chemicals added. I will not buy meat with hormones or antibiotics in it, as they affect our bodies in a very negative way. I prefer non-GMO meat. GMO crops have all been chemically treated, so the animal’s body is absorbing those unnatural chemicals as well, which means when we eat meat, our bodies will inherit traces of chemicals from fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides. Also, GMO corn and soybean fed cattle have less nutrient value than pasture-raised livestock. According to Heathline.com: “Conventional grain-fed beef is highly nutritious, but grass-fed beef contains more carotenoids, vitamin E and other antioxidants.”

I feel that paying a little more money for chemical-free meat is worth the cost. Better quality meat makes a huge difference in how your body is able to digest it, which benefits your other life centers as well.
I made my decision to continue eating meat because vegans do not consume vitamin B12 and some other smaller, less essential nutrients in great enough quantities to allow their bodies to reach a perfect balance. If you only eat plants, you will need to take B12 supplements to find balance in your body, which means you have to take a synthesized or man-made substance. But if you have to take a man-made chemical, doesn’t it kind of defeat the purpose of going vegan? This one little fact tells me our bodies are designed, or have evolved, to require the nutrients that can only be obtained through consuming animal protein.

We as a society need to figure out how to produce enough meat in a humane way, without using chemicals. Maybe we could try going back to smaller local farms growing crops and raising livestock for their immediate county’s use. We don’t need to feed the world. We do need to feed each other. Just a thought.

Greatness takes time

December 21st is the winter solstice as well as the shortest day of the year. How many of you noticed any difference between sunset on the 21st, vs the 20th? My Christmas lights come on at 5:30pm and it seemed to be dark about the same time as the day before. As a matter of fact I didn’t notice it getting darker for a week or more before the 21st.

The Grand Conjunction or the Christmas star 2020

How many of you watched the Grand Conjunction? This was a once every 800+ year astronomical event where the planets Jupiter and Saturn pass close together forming a single bright star. If you had been paying attention throughout the year the two stars slowly came together. There was little difference of the spread everyday, however when you looked back over time the planets covered a lot of sky to come together.

Greatness takes time

Nature takes its time to create greatness. We are a part of nature, and for that reason creating greatness in our lives also takes time. If you want to live a happier, healthier and more abundant life, you will need to take a step forward everyday. If you read one page in a book, and learn one small thing today, you will become smarter. However when you wake up tomorrow you will most likely see or feel no different. Your life will still be stagnant. Now on day two, three, and so on, if you continue to read one page, and learn one new thought, you will begin to see and feel the change. Now after thirty days, three months, or a year when you look back, you will see how much you accomplished, you will be amazed!

Started from a seed

Day by day the little changes seem insignificant, but when you add them all up you will see the change as monumental. Just as the difference between December 21st and June 21st is like night and day, accomplishing, learning and growing everyday creates monumental changes to your life over time as well.

One step a day to achieve… ANYTHING

If you commit to taking that one step everyday, I guarantee you that after 6 months your life will begin looking drastically different. You can be, do, have anything you want, but you have to commit to it daily. Take daily steps, but focus on the long-term change.
We, like nature, take time to achieve greatness.

TURMERIC; amazing health benefits, easy to grow.

Turmeric rhizomes

I just harvested my turmeric and thought I would share a few health facts with you. This simple root plant has amazing proven health benefits.

Fresh Turmeric

Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects. It is a very strong anti inflammatory, as strong as some pharmaceutical medications. It also has cancer and tumor reducing properties.
Unfortunately, curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. It helps to consume black pepper with it, which contains piperine, a natural substance that enhances the absorption of curcumin by 2,000%

What else can turmeric do for you?

Fights free radicals (Zombie cells) high antioxidants (curcumin delivers a one-two punch against free radicals. It blocks them directly, then stimulates your body’s own antioxidant defenses.)

Increases brain activity which may improve memory

Strengthens endothelium, which is the lining of your blood vessels. Improving blood flow and possibly reducing heart disease

Studies have shown that it can contribute to the death of cancerous cells and reduce angiogenesis (growth of new blood vessels in tumors) and metastasis (spread of cancer). It is a cancer killer. It has been found to reduce tumors in laboratory animals (tumor-ic ie; turmeric).
May help with arthritis pain.

Drying turmeric

Releases serotonin and dopamine which activates our happiness centers. Has been found to be as effective as prozac in treating depression. (so has St. John’s wort!)

There is some evidence that it may prevent cancer from occurring in the first place, especially cancers of the digestive system like colorectal cancer. In a 30-day study in 44 men with lesions in the colon that sometimes turn cancerous, 4 grams of curcumin per day reduced the number of lesions by 40%

Turmeric in container

Turmeric is fairly easily grown from Georgia south (zones 8 and up) by simply covering the rhizomes with 1-2 inches of soil. Water occasionally, fertilizer is not needed but may add to the size of the plants. Wait 8 months and as the leaves begin turning yellow, harvest the roots (rhizomes) carefully.

Coming soon 2021…

What’s up world? As I get closer to launching my book The Happiness Effect, I thought you might be asking yourself, “what the hell is the happiness effect?”

Well… have you ever had a day where you got what you wanted? You received the raise you asked for, you got the job, your partner said yes, Then while you were still beaming with joy, you noticed people around you seemed happy as well? Your happiness became addicting to others, you became a happiness attractor. This is an example of the happiness effect.

Happiness is inside of you.

Many people feel the need for money, alcohol, or drugs to create happiness. However you don’t need external sources of joy, you can create this emotional high simply by following a few simple guidelines.

The Happiness Effect will teach you the simple steps necessary to maintain your health, control and improve your mind, which will then attract abundance, guaranteed.

Inside of the book you will learn that you must:

Get your body right,

to get your mind right,

 to get your life right

The first step in creating more abundance in your life, is to get your health in order. Ask any Navy Seal what happens to their brain during their training, where they are deprived of food and sleep. They begin to lose their cognitive responses, they stop thinking clearly. Your brain depends on your body to be in good health to operate at its best, and your body depends on your brain, it’s all connected, and once you learn how to balance it, you will create the spark that ignites the happiness effect.

Once your health is on the right track, you will need to create positive momentum in your life. Which means, you need to learn to see all events as a learning, growing, or simply a positive experience in your life. This is certainly easier said than done, however by reading The Happiness Effect you will discover simple tricks, or shifts that can make this a lot easier.

Part of this process is learning to be grateful for all things. You break your leg, find a way to make it a positive experience. Gratitude is a huge key to living a happy and balanced life.

Nature heals

Finally I share secrets into how getting into nature will create some FREE healthcare for you. Nature holds many of the keys to your health, happiness, and, in creating homeostasis in your life. Believe it or not, just by standing under a tree, you breathe in natural chemicals called Phytoncides, which increase cancer fighting cells in our bodies called NK cells, or natural killer cells,

Just by going outside and breathing, you are healing yourself, and don’t forget about how beneficial sunshine is, with its FREE natural vitamin D supplement. Getting outside is important in creating your perfect life, and will many times, ignite the happiness effect.
